Climb up on some hill at sunrise. Everybody needs perspective once in a while, and you’ll find it there.

About Zach

Hi, I’m Zach Shearer, a Boise-based photographer with a passion for capturing real moments with heart, soul, and a bit of edge. I bring a professional yet fun and lighthearted energy to every shoot, making sure my clients feel comfortable, seen, and celebrated.

My journey with photography began on the sidelines—literally. I picked up a camera to freeze time as my two sons played football and baseball, and I haven’t put it down since. Four years later, what started as a way to preserve memories for my family has become a full-blown calling: helping others hold on to their own unforgettable moments.

What I Shoot

I specialize in sports and portrait photography, creating images that are rich with emotion, movement, and mood. Over the years, I’ve also expanded into commercial and family photography, and I'm currently diving into the world of real estate photography—a natural fit given my full-time career in the building industry.

Most of my clients are families, students, and parents who are looking for someone to capture life as it really is. Whether it’s a game-winning play, senior portraits, or a quiet family moment, I bring a natural, moody, and high-contrast style that adds depth and life to every image.

What Drives Me

I’m not just about snapping photos—I’m about telling stories. The rush of the game, the unique energy of an athlete, the quiet pride of a graduate, the bond of a family—all of that lives in the images I create.

My editing is true to life, with just enough mood to make the emotion shine through. And my process? It’s down-to-earth, people-first, and always professional. I believe that the best photos come from real connections, which is why I take the time to understand my clients and make them feel at ease.

Experience

I’m proud to have been capturing sports moments for Borah High School for over three years, building a portfolio that reflects both the grit and grace of high school athletics. I'm a self-taught photographer, driven by curiosity, passion, and a commitment to growth.

Beyond the Lens

When I’m not behind the camera, I’m probably fishing, out on the lake, traveling, or just soaking up time with my family—always with my camera close by, just in case. I’ve been told I’m loud in the best way, with a laugh that fills the room and a knack for striking up a conversation with just about anyone.

One quote that guides both my work and life:

“The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.” (Benjamin Franklin)

Let me help you capture your story—whether it’s a fleeting moment on the field or a milestone worth remembering forever.
